Exabel was founded in Oslo in 2016 based on the belief that the financial system will best serve society with fair, open and efficient markets. Exabel delivers an analytics platform for any investment professional who wants to benefit from alternative data and modern data science tools in their investment process. It fulfils a growing need in financial markets: while use of data – including fundamental, market, proprietary and alternative data – is critical for investment managers, modeling such data in house has become an excessive use of time and resources for all but the very largest investment firms.
Our company and team is growing fast, and we are now looking for a Data Engineer to join our team in Oslo. In this role, you will play an integral part in ensuring that our client and partners can leverage their data on the Exabel platform.
Core responsibilities include exploring, cleaning, transforming/aggregating, loading, and maintaining new and existing data sources onto our platform, where they are used for models based on advanced mathematics. Another important task will be to explore and link alternative data to the finance space. At Exabel, you will be part of an experienced team, working cross-functionally with professionals within engineering, quants, product, partnerships, and ops.
Are you motivated to join a top-tier team who all share a passion for fin-tech, and work on formidably challenging tasks together? Then we would like to hear from you!

We like for everyone to participate in a code test or a business case presentation. It gives us a better glimpse at your skills and strengths.
Your workstation will have been ordered ahead of time (by your specs, of course), so you can be up and running by day one.
You’ll get to know the team and what people are working on by having a one‐on‐one coffee (or a tea, or juice, or your beverage of choice) with everybody on the team.
You will be introduced to “the julekalender”, which outlines the company’s goals for the next few years (and equally importantly, what happens when each goal is reached).
Pick your first challenge, and contribute some code.
