Head of Marketing

Exabel is looking for someone to lead the development of our overall marketing strategy.


Exabel is a Norwegian FinTech company and presents a unique opportunity for the right individual to join a fast-growing company. We are in the business of helping investment teams utilize alternative data and modern data science insights in their investment process. We are looking for a Head of Marketing to help us reach and engage with new audiences across the investment management industry globally. 

You’ll be joining at an exciting time for the company, where we have just secured our third seed funding round and begin a bigger rollout across Europe and the US. Our investors and staff are not the only ones that are excited about our business; earlier this year we were one of just five startups selected for the UK’s Investment Association’s FinTech accelerator program.

Who we are looking for

As the business and the team grows, we are looking for someone to lead the development of our overall marketing strategy. We initially plan to tailor this for buy-side investment firms, with an expectation that the strategy is developed for use across a mix of marketing channels. 

We’ll be interested in candidates who can show us examples of content development and speak to how they’ve run B2B campaigns.

While no one day in the role will be exactly same as another, some activities you will find yourself doing include: 

  • Planning, editing, and contributing to a steady stream of content for use across our website, social media and other channels. 
  • Liaising with external vendors, industry bodies, data partners and our PR agency.
  • Planning our conference and event calendar (virtual and/or in-person).
  • Designing and delivering a method for reporting success.  
  • Campaign planning including related budgets.
  • Lead generation and qualification through digital channels.
  • Working directly with our growing sales function and our senior leadership team to stay aligned on priorities. 

The role is perfect for someone who has experience with a broad range of marketing channels and an understanding of what a successful marketing funnel and customer journey looks like for our investment management buyers.

Headquartered in Oslo with smaller offices in London and New York, we welcome candidates to work at our Oslo office.


  • 5-7 years B2B marketing experience in the investment management industry or related area.
  • Some experience from FinTech highly valued.
  • Natural story-teller with the ability to distill and communicate technical concepts and information in an engaging and non-technical way. 
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • The ability to translate marketing data into insights and recommendations. 
  • Good understanding of SEO and lead generation tactics. 
  • Hands on experience across digital channels including (but not limited to) Google Analytics, LinkedIn Campaign Manager.

What happens after I apply?

We aim to keep the process smooth and uncomplicated. The first step is a review of the material that you send us. It is important that you send sufficient material to give a good impression of your experience.

The next step would be a meeting in Oslo, with one or two of us. We may also do a code test.

The last step would be an interview with a person who understands your skillset.

Week one at Exabel may look something like this:

  • Your workstation will have been ordered ahead of time (by your specs, of course), so you can be up and running by day one.

  • You’ll get to know the team and what people are working on by having a one‐on‐one coffee (or a tea, or juice, or your beverage of choice) with everybody on the team.

  • You will be introduced to “the julekalender”, which outlines the company’s goals for the next few years (and equally importantly, what happens when each goal is reached).

  • Pick your first challenge, and contribute some code.
