Product Manager - Content

Exabel was founded in Oslo in 2016 based on the belief that the financial system will best serve society with fair, open and efficient markets. Exabel delivers an analytics platform for any investment professional who wants to benefit from alternative data and modern data science tools in their investment process. Ensuring that all market participants have the necessary tools to make informed investment decisions will ultimately lead to fairer and more efficient financial markets, to the best of society.

The Product Manager - Content will have overall lifecycle responsibility for all content on the Exabel platform, ensuring the content has the right quality and structure to provide insight for finance industry end users. This means working primarily with alternative datasets, provided by datapartners, but also some work on traditional financial market- and fundamental data.

The role will have ownership of all derived platform content in the form of insights, dashboards, drilldowns, alerts, commentary etc. An important goal is to enable our datapartners themselves to do the majority of the ingestion, curation and setup work. Thus you will be responsible for building a scalable process with software support and documentation for our partners to do self-service on our platform.

Internally you will work closely with the product team, developers, data engineers and our quants. Externally you will work closely with our datapartners and data-vendors.

Core responsibilities:

  • Own the datasets on the Exabel platform and it’s derived content
  • Oversee the lifecycle of each dataset, from ingestion, through setup and during the maintenance-phase
  • Develop a deep understanding of each dataset and how they in different ways can be structured for best possible insights
  • Enable good communication-channels to end user for changes and updates to data content
  • Document our interfaces for datapartnes, both APIs and front-ends, and best practices
  • Work closely with our alternative datapartners; especially their data and analysts teams
  • Write and follow up specifications for changes to our platforms and work closely with developers, data engineers and quants

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Good understanding of capital markets, especially equity markets and alternative data
  • Deep understanding of how to analyse quantitative data
  • Basic programming and database skills (for example Python and SQL) is a plus
  • Good communications skills and the ability to write clear, concise specifications and documentation
  • Hands-on experience from working with financial market data, including alternative data, is a must
  • Experience from data analytics or quantitative finance is required
