It fulfils a growing need in financial markets: while use of data – including fundamental, market, proprietary and alternative data – is critical for investment managers, modeling such data in house has become an excessive use of time and resources for all but the very largest investment firms.

This is a position to expand the Python core team within Engineering at Exabel. The Python core team is responsible for developing services and jobs that perform backtesting, transformations, prediction modelling etc. on time series using state of the art algorithms and machine learning, and expose services to our front-end application. Our services are managed by Google Kubernetes Engine. Scalability and high quality is key to everything in the Exabel platform, as well as short turnaround using CI/CD.

The Engineering team is a DevOps team using agile methodologies. Be prepared for your part on support duty as well, since we all share that responsibility.

Core responsibilities:

Design, implement, and test new and improved features
Handling incidents (when on support duty)

We’re looking for someone who has:

Experience with Python programming
Experience with time series modelling and/or machine learning
Experience with distributed systems
Experience with software development
Experience with SaaS and DevOps
Self-driven
Good communication skills, written and verbal
Master’s degree in computer science or related field
5-plus years of relevant experience

What happens after I apply?

We aim to keep the process smooth and uncomplicated. Once we have reviewed your application we will be setting interviews with your team leader and if proceeding a followup interview with team members.

Week one at Exabel may look something like this:

Your workstation will have been ordered ahead of time (by your specs, of course), so you can be up and running by day one.
You’ll get to know the team and what people are working on by having a one‐on‐one coffee (or a tea, or juice, or your beverage of choice) with everybody on the team.
You will be introduced to “the julekalender”, which outlines the company’s goals for the next few years (and equally importantly, what happens when each goal is reached).
